Food Lion Sucks.

I went down to the grocery store and, as expected, lines were a mile long with people buying bottled water and so forth. So I went down the road to everyone's grocery store of last resort, Food Lion, which was, predictably, practically deserted.

I loaded up my cart, but the moron at the register wouldn't sell me six-pack of beer, on the basis that Asheville is currently under a "state of emergency" and beer sales are prohibited by A.L.E. -- the state Alchohol Law Enforcement. So on the way home I bought a six at a convenience store no problem. Then I went to the A.L.E. site on the Internet, and the guy was wrong. Alchohol sales CAN be prohibited during an emergency (which would be a pretty damn stupid thing to do when the emergency is that THERE'S NO DRINKING WATER), but they don't have to be.

One more reason never to shop at Food Lion (as if CBS's story about them selling rotten meat a few years ago weren't enough).

Just went to local food lion, november 14th, 2005 around 6:30 and the cashier gave me attitude about not being open cause her dingy little light wasn't on. Lines are out the door and it's a typical day at Food Lion. She's serving customer so i assume she opens. Long story longer, she rings up 2 items doubled and i have to waste time going to customer service due to this idiot's lack of respect for people's time. Her name is Lanie. A struggling african-american butch woman who doesn't know the meaning of customer service or what;s expected out of people who get paid for what they do. My verdict, and it is a judgement (of opinion) is fire her! !$#@!$

This isn't the only time Food Lion has let idiots stay on and ruin customer experiences. But i'll stop for now.

the other incident was when a cashier was starting a fight with customers. Young and a cat fight too boot! I was amused by the idiocy as I usually am by idiocy.

Anyway, people gotta work, people gotta get off work, but keep the issues at home or find a job you really want to do rather than do the grind.
